Fall has officially started, which means plaid is back! Not that it ever left, but it's even more back,
ya know? With that being said, we're kicking fall off with a how to for
you! We love plaid, and we're hoping you do too! It's not always easy
to know how to style plaid when you want to do more than just wear it
buttoned up, so we've compiled a few ways for you to make this a little
easier! You're welcome ;)
Remember when we talked pattern mixing? We do! Here's a perfect example of how to mix those cut patterns together without overwhelming yourself or others. Plaid button ups are perfect for dressing an outfit down. Don't want to feel too fancy? Tie a button up around your waist and go from glam to casual in minutes (without losing the style you're already oozing)! Outfit can be found: here
We swear this combination will never go out of style because it's just too cute! Style your plaid button up with your favorite sweater, roll the sleeves, pop out your collar and you're good to go! Seriously, that's all you need to do. Simple & adorable! Does it get better than that? Outfit can be found: here
When we talked back on the post on pattern mixing, we said one of the rules was to make sure the two patterns had a color in common. This rule is also unofficially true for plaid! If you want it to work 100%, it's better if you have a color that fits with the plaid. If you don't want white, go with one of the others! People love a colorful outfit-- so give them, and yourself, what you want!
Instead of going fancy underneath and casual on top, switch it up a bit! Who says you can't wear a sparkly sweater with a plaid button up underneath? Certainly not us! We're actually promoting it!
Can't get rid of that summer dress just yet? We can't blame you! Throw some plaid on it for the perfect transition to fall. That's just another feature of plaid! It takes you straight from summer to fall in minutes. Seriously, it's a perfect piece to have in your closet. It's just so versatile! Outfit can be found: here
