9 Style Ideas for Tulle Skirts

Wearing a tulle skirt is the easiest way to feel feminine, fun and flirty all at the same time. But often we don't know what to pair with it so it fits into our already established wardrobe. But that is why we are here! We know how to seamlessly blend these skirts into your closet.

First, take a deep breath and realize that a tulle skirt is not a scary item to wear and that you can totally rock this look. Treat it as a normal skirt and it will be a lot easier to mix and match different tops and accessories with. The best thing about this skirt is that you can go as casual or as formal as you want. This first section of photos is all about the casual look.

Pairing your tulle skirt with your favorite tee or hippie top is the easiest way to not feel over dressed in your tulle skirt. If your skirt is a neutral then pair it with fun pop of color like lime or blue and grab your favorite hat to complete the look. If you want to step it up a notch them keep reading...

Adding a collared shirt with a statement necklace will quickly add some more visual interest and formality to your outfit. Or you can pair your skirt with a fun graphic tee and cardigan. Layering always adds a fanciness factor. And for the big finale, how to dress up your tulle skirt.

Pairing your tulle skirt with clothing items that are in the same color family formalizes and unifies your outfit and gives it more of a dress vibe rather than a skirt vibe. Adding even bigger or fancier statement jewelry is also a great way to formalize your outfit. And of course adding a lace or metallic element really sets off the feminine beauty of your skirt.

We hoped this helped and that you will come see us for a tulle skirt!

Vinyl Sticker Chalkboard Signs

Chalkboards are a fun way to add a new texture and some visual interest to your wedding, but not all of us are gifted chalk artists. In this post we will discuss a simple solution to avoid some of the frustration that can come with chalk hand lettering.

You will only need three items for this project, a chalkboard, a vinyl sticker and some chalk or chalk pens.

What to do:

1) Select a chalkboard shape and style of your choice. We decided to use a simple bracket chalkboard but if that isn't your cup of tea we have multiple styles available on our website under our Here Comes the Bride event page. http://www.adornit.com/events/here-comes-the-bride/decor/

2) Make sure your chalkboard is clear of all dust and imperfections to avoid bubbles or rough spots in your sticker application.

3) Decide how you want your chalk board to sit and at what angle you would like your text to appear.

4) Apply your sticker! We have multiple gold vinyl stickers to choose from in our Here Comes the Bride event! We decided on our gold Ever After sticker.

5) After applying the sticker the artistic direction is completely up to you! We decided to take a piece of chalk and add some "dust" around the text to give it more attitude. To do this simply lay the chalk on its side and lightly rub around the text. If it goes on too heavy, no worries! Simply rub it with a cloth, paper towel of even your own finger.

6) After the dusting is complete we decided to add some leafy accents to the border of our chalkboard with a chalk pen. This can seem daunting to those of us with little artistic abilities but it can be fun and easy!

 7) Draw a line that shadows the border of the chalkboard (make sure to leave enough room for leaf details) and simply go along the line with little triangles to make leafs. Simple as that! Get as intricate and detailed as you want!

8) Step back and admire your work! You are now a pro chalk artist!

DIY: Chalkboard Table Numbers

What you will need:
  • Mini chalkboards
  • Chalk or chalk pens of your color choice
  • Pencils
  • Spray paint of your color choice
  • Hairspray or art fixative
  • Tape or hot glue gun
  • A designated spray painting area

What to do:
  1. Take your pencils to your designated spray painting area. We recommend putting cardboard down to minimize the clean up time.
  2. Lay them out in a line with about half an inch of space between them.

  3. Shake your spray paint well and apply an even coat of spray paint to the exposed sides of the pencil
    • >>Warning<< if you hold the can of spray paint too close to the pencils the force of the spray will cause the pencils to roll and bump into each other possibly causing smudges and uneven layers.
  4. Once satisfied with the spray paint coverage and they no longer feel sticky, turn the pencils and spray the newly exposed sides. If your pencils rolled during the previous step then just go with the flow and spray whatever side is available.

  5. When you have sprayed all sides of your pencils, give them a minute to dry and head inside to work on your mini chalkboards.
  6. Decide on a font that suits your wedding and is also within your skill set and proceed to number your chalkboards. Feel free to add fun details and flourishes! This is supposed to be a fun way to help showcase your personality at your wedding! We decided to use two different sizes of chalkboards to add a little visual interest.
  7. When you are done with your numbering spray them with an art fixative or hairspray to help prevent smudging. This will eliminate a lot of stress when transporting them to your venue.
  8. Bring all of your pencils inside and tape or hot glue your pencils to the back sides of your chalkboards. If you are feeling a little funky then change the placement of your pencils to give varied height to your chalkboards.

  9. You did it!! You now have an adorable bunch of numbers that will add a hint of your personality to every table at your wedding!

  10. After the wedding you can use these chalkboards as fun labels for whatever your heart desires! Spice containers, storage bins, coat hooks, shoe cubbies, the list goes on and on!
